Continual Segregation in Columbia and Next Steps

A 30-minute film titled "Race - The Power of an Illusion: How the Racial Gap was Created". A conversation will follow on the on-going issues of segregation in Columbia and what we, as a community, can do to challenge such disparities.

Creative activity and discussion to help us think about privilege and heterosexism and to reflect on our own behaviors and beliefs around sexuality.

Location: Missouri United Methodist Church (204 S 9th Street)

Simulated experience to help understand the realities of poverty in our community. Come ready to experience a month in poverty faced by low-income Missourians.

Cycle of Socialization

Date: March 28, 2018

Time: 6:00-7:30PM

Location: Columbia/Boone County - Department of Public Health and Human Services (Training Room)

Explore how we are socialized into systems of oppression by messages from family, friends, institutions, media, and culture. This experience will be offering a stamp for the Matters of Social Justice: Journey Toward Inclusive Excellence passport. Space is limited to 30 participants.
